The Regional Minitry, through its General Directorate of Tourism, announces from today the public tender for the design and work management of Galician Hall at the international exhibition.
The new work will transmit an image that, based on tradition, will be essentially new, interactive and current, with entertainment events, gastronomy and scientific conferences.
The Regional Minister of Innovation and Industry, Fernando X. Blanco Alvarez, announced at the launch event of the new exhibition hall, the creation of the new Galician Office for Universal Exhibitions, dependent of the General Directorate of Tourism.
The Regional Ministry of Innovation and Industry will invest two million euros for the promotion of Galicia in Zaragoza Expo 2008
The Regional Minister of Innovation and Industry, Fernando X. Blanco Álvarez, presented today at the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses of A Coruña, the contents of the Galician proposal for the International Exhibition in Zaragoza which will take place from June 14th, 2008 and will continue in the city for three months. The ceremony of presentation was attended by the Regional Minister, the General Director of Tourism, Ruben Lois, and the Expo Director of Communications, Antonio Silva.
Fernando Blanco announced today that it will be reported through the written news press, the announcement of the public tender for the design of the hall and the management of the works. The Regional Ministry of Innovation and Industry will invest a total of two million for its participation in Zaragoza Expo. Half of this investment will be dedicated to the design and assembly of the hall. The Regional Ministry wants to convey an image that, based on the deep Galician tradition, will be essentially new, interactive and current, with a hall that also will play with experimentation and sensations.
The contents of the hall will focus on the “green” Galicia, and intended to provide a complement to the classic image of the Iberian Peninsula with the view of the Atlantic Galicia of forests and rains. In addition, the hall will also present the country as a fishing power, the Spa tourism boom, and of course the ways to Compostela, historically linked to water.
Galician Day of Honor
In addition to the content of the exhibition hall, a varied selection of the best of musical and artistic creation in the country, will be scheduled. These shows will be scheduled around the Galician Day of Honor, on July 18th, 2008. Along with entertainment events, gastronomical offerings, local wines and also mineral waters will have their own place in Zaragoza.
At the presentation act, the Regional Minister of Innovation and Industry announced the launch of the new Galician Office for Universal Exhibitions, dependent of the General Directorate of Tourism and responsible for managing and coordinating the presence of our country in all future international or universal exhibitions .
At today´s presentation, a video titled “Temos moito que dicir” (“We have a lot to say”) was projected, a one minute and a half short, summarizing the intense and deep relationship that Galicia always had with water, because the water has been and is present in all vital manifestations in the country.
