Fernando Blanco, José Luis Méndez and Julio Fernández Gayoso signed today an agreement to promote Galicia during the Expo. According to that agreement, each savings bank will contribute with 100,000 Euros.
The regional ministry of innovation and industry and the Galician savings banks collaborate in activities for promoting Galicia during the international expo of Zaragoza.
The regional minister of innovation and industry and chairman of the board of the S.A. de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo, Fernado Blanco; the general manager of Caixa Galicia, José Luís Méndez; and the chairman of Caixanova, Julio Fernández Gayoso signed this morning in Santiago a collaboration agreement to promote Galicia during de international exhibition that is going to be held in Zaragoza from July 14th until September 14th.
Both organizations will collaborate with the S.A. de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo investing 100,000 euros each for the development of promotional activities to be held into the Galician pavilion.
The aim of the regional ministry is that Galicia could have an outstanding, appealing, different presence at the Expo. That is the reason why they have designed a wide, varied programme that will be Galicia’s presentation letter for the world, as a preview of what is going to be the Jacobean year 2010. Following this approach of singularity, the Galician pavilion will promote Galicia’s tourist resources as well as the best regional gastronomy.
The regional ministry of innovation and industry wanted to collaborate with the private initiative, given that it is considered that the implication of the local savings banks and the whole business sector is indispensable to make Galicia’s promotion meet the challenge of such an important event. According to the regional department, it is an investment for the future, which will bring about a greater knowledge of our country and an increasing number of visitors for the Galician tourist sector, enhancing thus the internationalization of other sectors as well.
