Galicia formalizes in the Aragonese capital its participation in the International Zaragoza Expo 2008
The General Director of Tourism, Ruben Lois, and the President of Expoagua Zaragoza 2008, Roque Gistau Gistau, signed in the capital of Aragon, the contract for Galician participation in the international shows.
On July 27th, the Galician proposal for this International Exhibition focused on water and sustainable development, will be presented.

Galicia formalized yesterday its participation in the International Zaragoza Expo 2008, an event which will take place next year in the Aragonese capital between July 14th and September 14th, and will involve almost 100 countries worldwide.
The exhibition will focus on water and sustainable development. The Director of Tourism from the Ministry of Innovation and Industry, Rúben Lois Gonzalez and the President of Expoagua Zaragoza 2008, Roque Gistau Gistau, signed yesterday the contract for Galician participation in the International Expo. This signing took place in the framework of the second international planning meeting, which was attended by 350 delegates from about 100 participant countries.
According to the General Director of Tourism, Ruben Lois, “Galicia is a country deeply tied to water”. Our proposal in Zaragoza will be innovative, interactive and with a significant presence of nature and local gastronomy.
Apart from the Galician Hall presence in the international exhibition which is being built and works progressing at a good pace, street shows, contemporary dance and music will also be programmed, from the more traditional to the new trends. Galicia starts with an investment of two million euros to participate in this international exhibition.
July 18th, 2008 will be the day dedicated to Galicia in the events scheduled for three months, total duration of the Expo. The organizers of the Expo 2008 have already sold 1.9 million tickets to attend the exhibition and the organization expects more than six million visitors.
