The project entitled ‘Irimia’, from the company Expociencia, was the winner by unanimous decision of the jury. Originality, innovative character and architectural project was mostly valued.

The council of innovation and industry sanctions the contest for the design of the galician hall to be built in zaragoza expo 2008, in which the project ‘irimia’, from the company expociencia, was the winner. A total of 11 proposals were submitted from around the country.
The jury, chaired by the Innovation and Industry Regional Minister, Fernando Blanco, and comprising a total of 10 people, including architects, technical and legal specialists in the field, was unanimous in its decision. Winner´s originality, profound innovative character and the proper resolution of its architectural project was mostly considered. The winners will now be in charge of drafting the final plan for the hall, to be presented later this month of September, as well as directing the work.
Prizes for winners and finalists
The call for this competition provided a number of prizes to the three best projects. The winner will receive a first prize of 50,000 euros; The second, 20,000 euros and the third 10,000 Euros. Exposcience has been the winner of the contest and the 50,000 euros main prize. Estudios Santos Zas S.L. and Graíño Nieto Architects S.L., along with Portico Communications S.L, “La Nuestra” Advertising and Communication, constitute the group that won the second prize, which represents 20,000 euros. E-Cultura Net S.A. were awarded the third prize, endowed with 10,000 euros.
The Council for Innovation and Industry foresees an investment of 1 million euros for the final construction of the hall. The estimated total contribution to the promotion of Galicia in Zaragoza Expo reaches two million euros.
